Gotta go with the Rage Nimbus. I don't like taking U/W leveler cards that early because it can dry up fast if somebody else is trying to go it as well. You can make an argument that cryptologist doesn't always lock you into the levelers archetype, but considering that if you took it you would be passing a Skywatcher Adept and Champions Drake, odds are somebody not too far down will be going blue, and I don't like fighting over blue in this set.

Nimbus is a cheap 5/3 that can take out their smaller guys early on, and most non-eldrazi creautres would end up trading with it were you to make it attack. I'd say you made the right choice.

Depends what archetypes you like.. Most people online only know about Levelers, GW AuraAggro, Gx Ramp and BR tokens. I have like 15 archetypes I draft so this leaves the options open.

Rage Nimbus is the card I would never draft first especially with Lust for War in the pool. That card is an auto win vs slow decks like ramp. Also it can be played in tons of decks. GR Ramp, Black Red Tokens, UWR Control, UR Fiend, It is even good in BRU Control.

Even saying that I still probably wouldn't pick it first. Onclave Oncologist is just so good.. Here are my orders.

1) Crypto
2) Lust for War
3) Ondu Giant

if you are passing this blue you won't be seeing any pack 2

The reason I do not like Rage Nimbus is because it usually trades 1 for 1 with a mediocre creatures unless you have a defensive deck or umbras. I really likes it to start but against most of the archetypes it has been lackluster.

Rage Nibmus was better than I expected

At first, I thought Rage Nimbus would just trade 1 for 1. But after playing it, I realized it is much better. The reason being that I can make all his dudes attack (and maybe get a free creature or two) then counter attack with my team (which includes a vampire that will be lethal).
