Since I am down here in Florida for a month I decided to look for game stores online so I could find a place to play. Down here are are a bunch of stores and they even had midnight prerelease tournaments. Unfortunately for me the game store is not close to my grandpa's house. (Nothing is close to my grandpas house)

When I arrived at the store I saw a lot more people than I have seen in Boise since the old Hobbytown days. It was a big deal and there was an even larger turnout at the game store in Tampa. There were about 100 people and the payouts were 4 Sun Titans and 32 packs for first. (I sold 17 of them and now have 15 to draft with my boys). They should have just gave me a box those cheap bastards. Well lets get to the important stuff:

5) lands. Red didn't make the top 5

Red is so bad and also very difficult to splash. If you manage to draft 5 lightning bolts and 2 chandraChars I think you could still lose because of the lack of good creatures at the common slot. (and everyone is going to draft lightning bolt hard card to pass.)

I was pleased with my cards even though the guy next to me opened a Grave Titan first pack and a Green Titan second pack. I started with a Haunting Echos and a Foil Dark Tutelage( BAD CARD.. BAD BAD CARD ).

I knew I was going to play black white. Such a great combination and the only weakness of it is the amount of double spells. Having 3 Expanse has fixed that problem so i was good to go

Round 1 vs Black/Green guy who had the 2 titans

I sit down and he says
"I have really good cards I feel sorry for you. Don't feel bad when you lose."

I found out that he was 17 and didn't have a job and was in school. His girlfriend was sitting next to him saying:

"Having that attitude is going to bite you in the ass."

I started laughing and blonde man started getting upset.

"Why are you laughing!" he exclaimed.

"Because I'm going to own you then your girlfriend is going to leave you and ultimately you will be calling your mom to pick you up."

Game 1:

He plays first and mulligans to 6. I tell him that he shouldn't do that, it gives me card advantage.

I play Liliana's specter on turn 3 making him discard
I play Liliana's Spectre on turn 4 Making him discard
He plays Giant Spider
I pacify it
I swing for 4 and play Liliana Vess making him discard
I play Serra Angel and he scoops.

"That was gay. I had 2 Titans and not enough mana to cast them"

Game 2:

He mulligans to 5 on the play.
I inform him that he is allowed an unlimited amount of basic forests and swamps.

He plays Vine Reach Wall 0/3 and turn 2 puts the cocoon on him
I play a blinding mage
I play an assault Griffon and pass
I tap his wall and swing with griffon. He assassinates my tapper.
I play Diabolic Tutor for Serra Angel holding a pacify in my hand for his wall.
He plays a basilisk
I Draw Triskelion and play a Serra Angel.
He swings for a huge 3. I pacify his wall and swing for 7
He plays a Giant spider.
I put Unholy Str on my Serra Angel and swing. He soon dies.

Round 2 Blue/Green/Black Bullshit

He is a good player but almost lost to a little girl first round who played Grave Titan. I saw that he had 2 Wall of Frost and a Platinum Angel that he used to beat the little girl. I think he also had 2 Cudgel Trolls 2 elves for ramp and 3 foresee.. He ends up second in the tournament.

Game 1:

Really fast game. He makes a huge play mistake discarding diminish to my liliana Specter.

He plays an Azure Drake as the only creature that can block flying. I put a Serra Angel and a Howling Banshee on the board. Angel and Banshee attack for a bunch of turns until he dies.

Game 2:

He plays an elf turn 1 Elf and grizzly bear turn 2. And a Turn 3 Cudgel Troll.

I have a decent hand. I play a Barony Vampire that ends up trading with a Grizzly Bear. He plays Air Servant that taps flyers. All my creatures are flyers and even with pacify I can't stop the troll. He also Doom blades my tapper.

Game 3:

Game goes to time. I kill his air servant with Triskelion. I use Safe Passage to stay alive vs his creatures. I get him locked down with Indestructible knights with first strike. He has a Platinum Angel. I have a condemn in hand he is at negative 2 life. He knows I have condemn in my deck and he can't attack through my flyers anyways.

6 Cards left in my deck when turns were over, he had 5. I had Solemn offering and Diabolic tutor still in my deck.

Round 3: Red Blue Tempo beats

Game 1:

He gets mana screwed for blue. No blue mana the whole game.. He has Crystal Ball in play and a goblin Piker. I go Roc Egg into Assault Griffon(bolted) into Serra Angel. He says i'm dumb because I told him he should Crystal ball at the end of my turn and during his upkeep. But bad magic players don't like help.

Game 2:

Most depressing game of my life. He plays Turn 1

Tome Scour.
Turn 2 red Goblin Piker.
I expanse twice and play a black knight on turn 3.
He bolts my knight and plays Jace's Erasure
I play Juggernaught.
He threatens it 2 turns in a row and I am unable to get 5 mana. He also cast the 5/1 haste guy

Game 3:

His deck sucks so i play creatures and kill him.

Round 4: Girl playing Naya colors with huge angels

Game 1:

I play a couple flyers and go the distance. She never gets enough mana to cast the angels in time. I also had a Liliana with 8 loyalty counters.

Game 2:

Liliana's specter with unholy strength goes the distance. she plays 2 basilisks and a giant spider.. I pacify the spider and an Assault Griffon and Specter end her quickly.

Round 5: Red Black with Phylactery Lich, Sword of V and Magma Phoenix.

I watched his previous game and saw that he had lots of removal and 2 crystal balls. But what he didn't have was flyers.

Game 1:

I play Liliana's Specter, Assault Griffon, then Serra Angel. He plays Crystal Ball, A firebreathing Grey Ogre and a Chandra's Outrage on my Assault griffon.

about a 5 minute game

Game 2:

He plays Doom blade Lightning Bolt and a Chandra's Outrage. He plays Sword of V with a Bog Raider out. Swampwalk and I think I am dead. I peel a sideboarded celestial purge off of the top. He equips and loses his guy and I'm racing him Howling Banshee and a Roc Egg on the board.. He plays a Phylactery Lich and equips and swings. I block. I play a Triskelion to Chump his next turn and I win.

Round 6: Blue Green guy with maindeck gain 6 life for 4. he wants to draw. I want to win.

His deck is really good. He lost to the black red guy I just beat but his deck is solid. He has Mindcontrol and Sphinx and Garruk. But he has no removal.

Game 1

He plays a grizzly. I have the 2 liliana's specter draw. He gets mana screwed finally casts a foresee. I cast a Howling Banshee followed by a howling banshee to end him the turn he plays a garruk.

Game 2:

I play a turn 2 black knight. Turn 3 cast Unholy STr on it. Turn 4 cast Knight exemplar. 5/4 First Strike Indestructible attacks every turn. He plays the sphinx and I pacify It.

I attack and he blocks with a Giant Spider while at 6 life. He top decks a Mind Control and takes my knight saying a comeback is coming.

I attack with Exemplar for 2 bringing him down to 4. I play Howling banshee bringin him down to 1. He plays an Azure drake with 1 blue left.

I play Liliana getting Triskelion. He mana leaks it..
I use liliana getting my Second Howling Banshee. I win.

Overall it was a lot of fun. A good change from all the ROE that I have been getting owned on. I have had some bad luck recently with good decks. Down here in Florida it isn't much fun playing on a slow laptop anyways. Well happy magic, keep in touch.
