I went into this tournament hoping for U/W fliers. From a quick glance over the spoiler, I was really impressed with blue and white and really not impressed with black and red. I have done a lot of base set events online and have always liked U/W, U/B, and some G/R builds can be decent. I'll go right into the pool.

The first problem I noticed was a lack of creatures. Below are the playable creatures counts by color:

Green: 10
Black: 6
White: 4
Blue: 5
Red: 8

I ended up in blue/red, but now (after this analysis) I think I should have played blue/green. I thought I needed to play red because it had a good creature base, but now looking at the number, green had more playable creatures. I wanted to play blue because the titan, as well as 3x diminish. I thought arc runner had trample for some reason....it doesn't. I definitely shouldn't have played it. I also think I should have played negate over thunder strike. I don't have enough creatures to make thunder strike that great. I also wasn't sure about crystal ball, but it seemed pretty good when I drew it mid/late game. I also like augury owl more than I thought I would. (I keep looking at it like sage owl, but the scry is so much better.) Diminish was stupid all day, and I really like the card (and the art...kitties aren't supposed to smell like cigarettes, kitties are supposed to smell like kitties). I ended up 4-1. My loss was to some bad draws combined with mind control on my titan game 1, and a huge corrupt game 2. I think I should have played this list:
