My rares were pretty bad as I opened no bombs. There is nothing worse than getting Silence or leylines and it seems like I always get Elvish Archdruid. Oh well. I'll start off with green because it had a lot of mana fix and some solid creatures including Garruk's Packleader with lots of three power creatures, so I was pretty sure I would play green. Red had three good burn spells including Fireball. This pool seemed like it just didn't have enough solid creatures.

Green
-----
With four mana fixers and the ridiculous Garruk's Packleader along with lots of other fat, I figured green was the way to go.
Blue
-----
There are only two playable creatures in blue (I don't think phantom beast is very good). Mind control is one of my favorite cards, and I also have Jace's Ingenuity, Ice Cage, and Diminish, which all seem good. I am not sure how much I
like mana leak in this format yet. I think the problem with blue was the lack of creatures this pool had to offer.
White
-----
I was thinking a white/x aggro deck may be good because I have lots of quick beats and pump spells. The problem with white is that it only offered four aggressive creatures, which is probably not enough.
Black
-----
Once again I have only four playable creatures in this color. The black just doesn't seem that strong and there aren't any cards worth splashing (except maybe gravedigger or bog raiders from the board).
Red
-----
Red had three removal and some playable creatures. I normally don't play Berserkers of Blood Ridge, but with packleader and three acceleration spells, I thought he would be playable since I needed creatures.
With this pool, I am not sure that there were many options because lack of creatures. One thing that somebody suggested to me was splashing white for condemn. After thinking about this, I thought it would have been good because I lost many games to big rare fliers. Please post your thoughts about an alternative builds and ideas. BTW, I ended up 3-2 and squeezed in 8th place, losing in the quarterfinals with a mediocre U/W deck.
I actually agree with Charlie
I actually agree with Charlie about something other than "f it let's drink" for once.
Plummet seems like your proper concession to the pool and field and you probably win off of it when you draw it, have to have it somewhere with that pool, and otherwise it is likely to not clog you up very often.
I definately should have played plummet
I lost to that big white redirect angel and the red ping dragon. Plummet would have been great against those bombs.
Agreed Shitty pool
Looking @ this pool, I would have def gone RG for sure. These were some ass packs and your options were very limited. I also agree with Charlie that having plummet MD would have given you a little more game against flyers.
I also think with all your fixing, splashing white for the Mighty Leaps and condemn would have also been ok because you would have had tricks against decks with flyers using Mighty Leap as a kill spell. I also see you having issues with any deck that has doomblade as it is nuts against you!
With this pool, you almost have to go 3 colors and hope you don't get screwed! Here is my build with a white splash:
Decklist
--------
2x Birds of Paradise
1x Sylvan Ranger
1x Prodigal Pyromancer
1x Canyon Minotaur
2x Vulshok Berserker
2x Berserkers of Blood Ridge
1x Yavimaya Wurm
1x Garruk's Packleader
2x Greater Basilisk
1x Obstinate Baloth
1x Cultivate
2x Mighty Leap
1x Condemn
2x Chandra's Outrage
1x Fireball
1x Crystal Ball
8x Forest
7x Mountain
3x Plains
14 Creatures, 8 Spells, 18 Lands
18 Lands may be to many with all your fixing, but usually when I run 3 colors, I always run 18 lands. Your curve ends @ 6 in this deck so 17 is probably enough. With this build, I would just be worried about the RR on outrage. Also birds is really great fixing, but does nothing else. I could see cutting one more land for the giant growth and only running 2 plains as well.
Just my thoughts!
Pretty crappy
I can't believe you didn't have anything to splash. I'd probably build the deck exactly the same, -1 Wall of Vines, which is so horrible, +1 Plummet, which is also an answer to flyers, but can kill all the fatties the wall can't and plays on offense and defense.
Maybe if you wanted to get crazy you could cut Canyon Minotaur, Lava Axe, and some Berserkers for Excommunicate and Mighty Leaps. Pretty lame splash, but it makes your deck alot more aggressive and answers flyers.
